It serves as prey for birds and small mammals, making it an essential part of the coastal food web. On Lihou, you may hear its chirps in grassy patches during warm afternoons, a sign of healthy, undisturbed vegetation.

  • When to See: Summer into early autumn, when adults are active
  • Length: 15–20 mm
