Musk Stork’s-bill
Erodium moschatum
This relative of the crane’s-bill has divided leaves and pinkish flowers, with seed pods that resemble a stork’s bill. “Musk” refers to the faint scent sometimes detected from crushed foliage.
- Habitat: Bare or lightly disturbed ground, paths, coastal lawns, and open fields.
- When to See: Flowers generally appear from spring into early autumn.
- Length: Can reach ~30 cm tall when in flower.
