Eurasian Teal

Our smallest dabbling duck, the Teal drake has a rich chestnut head with a green stripe. Females are mottled brown and can be tricky to spot. They often gather in flocks on shallow water, feeding at the waterβs edge or dabbling for seeds and small insects.
- Habitat: Wetlands, flooded fields, estuaries, sheltered bays.
- When to See: Winter
- Diet / Food: Seeds, aquatic invertebrates, and plant matter.
