Smooth Sow-thistle

Sonchus oleraceus
Smooth Sow-thistle is an annual herb recognised by its soft, spiny-edged leaves and milky sap. Despite the prickly appearance, it is relatively tender compared to true thistles.
- Habitat: Disturbed ground, field margins, coastal pathways, and around human activity.
- When to See: Flowers mainly spring through autumn.
- Length: Stems can reach up to ~60β―cm (sometimes taller in sheltered spots).
